Physician offices will be able to benefit from Allscripts Touchworks(TM) technology via the RadiantMed ASP environment and the cooperative (co-op) business structure — SharedSourceFramework(TM) (SSF).

MedAlliance is a management services organization that provides comprehensive technology and management services to primary care and specialty physician groups. Offerings include best-in-class applications and resources, all of which are deployed under the guidance and direction of affiliate service provider RadiantMed. Under the agreement, RadiantMed will distribute MedAlliance TouchWorks licenses with the anticipation of providing a mutually beneficial, cooperative business environment.

“Allscripts provides the sophisticated tools and information that we need to help our physicians provide the best possible patient care,” said Michael Ford, Chief Executive Officer of MedAlliance. “We feel confident that Allscripts, being the market leader, is truly committed to developing world-class solutions — and to building relationships of benefit for years to come.”

TouchWorks speeds and automates everyday clinical tasks such as prescribing and refilling medications, ordering and viewing tests, and documenting care. The web-based Allscripts solution is ranked No. 1 in its market category by the recently released KLAS Top 20: Mid-Year 2007 Report of product and service performance. The Electronic Health Record delivers instant access to patient information anywhere at anytime, whether providers are in the clinic, at the hospital or on-call at home. TouchWorks enables physicians to truly transform healthcare, with robust tools for documentation and orders, preloaded connections to a range of devices, seamless support for pay-for-performance and quality initiatives, and an advanced user experience that lets users easily configure the system to their own specific needs while protecting the discrete data needed for research and analytics.

After a comprehensive review of Electronic Health Record solutions, MedAlliance and RadiantMed selected Allscripts for the company’s financial stability, its strong reputation for client support, and its ability to deliver reliable, high-performance clinical solutions.

“For private physician practices to survive and thrive in today’s healthcare market, they not only must provide outstanding care but do it more efficiently than ever before,” said Dr. Mark Howell, Physician Framework Advisor for RadiantMed. “I’m confident that Allscripts provides one of the key mechanisms that will transform healthcare and dramatically improve quality for our physicians and their patients.”

Allscripts Chief Executive Officer Glen Tullman commented, “Management service organizations deliver outstanding value to medical practices by managing the technology end of our Electronic Health Record and letting physicians focus on what they do best — caring for patients. We’re proud to join MedAlliance and RadiantMed in providing their physicians access to the right information at the right time, and the tools to enhance patient care at reduced cost.”

About MedAlliance

MedAlliance began core operations in 1993. As the healthcare market consolidated, splintered and reorganized, we saw the needs of independent practitioners broaden at an incredible pace. We listened to our clients, polled the marketplace, and quickly realized that traditional practice management was no longer enough. Our clients needed a partner who could provide new ideas, services, and opportunities to serve the growing needs of the physician organization.

That’s why in 2000, after cultivating our client relationships during the ’90s, we refocused our mission with our new incorporation. We moved beyond our expertise in traditional practice management to specialize in coding, compliance, information systems and networking, broad-based management consulting, and so much more. In other words, our clients defined our business. For more information, visit http://www.medalliance.md.
