Temple University Physicians Awards Ingenix with Radiology Department Business

New Contract Brings to Eight the Number of Temple Specialty Practice Groups Using Ingenix CareTracker Services to Achieve Higher Collection Rates, Faster Payment

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (July 13, 2009) –

Temple University Physicians has selected Ingenix CareTracker Services to support revenue cycle management and control costs for its Radiology department.

Temple University Physicians has already used Ingenix CareTracker Services to manage revenue performance and reduce administrative costs in seven other departments. Since Temple began using Ingenix CareTracker Services in 2006, the organization has increased its collection rate by three percent and reduced time for receiving payments by 16 percent.

Ingenix CareTracker Services help Temple to identify and resolve claims issues prior to billing, and to prospectively reduce claims rejections. Ingenix CareTracker Services also give Temple’s management team insight into claim denial trends across insurers, so it can act quickly to sustain high levels of payment accuracy.

“We are increasing our use of Ingenix CareTracker Services because they create value for our business,” said Maureen Connell, director of central business operations at Temple University Physicians. “In addition, our management teams work well together, giving Ingenix the ability to play an active role in our process improvement efforts, expand our access to information and provide insight to our business challenges and risks to achieving our goals. For us, this has been a relationship that really works.”

“Temple’s ability to proactively identify billing errors and simplify the claims process is helping them to make the system work better for everyone,” said Bill Miller, executive vice president of provider solutions at Ingenix. “Administrative costs associated with erroneous claims submissions are a huge source of inefficiency in health care. Ingenix CareTracker Services are an important contributor to Temple’s success at tightening the revenue cycle. We are pleased to have the confidence of Temple University Physicians’ management team in continuing to build our relationship. “

Ingenix has partnered with Aviacode, a Salt Lake City-based coding solutions company, on this project. Aviacode’s coding services will supplement Ingenix’s claim management and billing activities.
