SoftAid’s Jim Clark Speaks at Medtrade Spring 2004

Session Reviews Upcoming Innovations in Medical Software

Las Vegas, NV (March 18, 2004) –

SoftAid’s vice president Jim Clark today spoke at his second consecutive Medtrade show, this time at Medtrade Spring 2004 in Las Vegas. Titled Medical Software – Where It’s At and Where It’s Going, the session detailed the current state of medical management systems and discussed several features that can be expected in the coming years.

“The medical community is known for being technological laggards when it comes to software innovations,” Mr. Clark said. “There’s no real explanation for it. For instance, some vendors – ourselves included – have been offering online medical management for a few years, but it’s only recently become a killer application.”

Among the features discussed were the rise in online medical management as a viable and cost effective management alternative, real-time claims processing, and medical software for handheld devices. Additionally, Mr. Clark reviewed the four parts of HIPAA’s Administrative Simplification provisions and explained how they relate to medical management systems.
