CHICAGO and CINCINNATI (April 04, 2007) –

Allscripts (Nasdaq: MDRX), the leading provider of clinical software, connectivity and information solutions that physicians use to improve healthcare, announced today that PriMed Physicians of Dayton and Health First Physicians of Cincinnati will deploy TouchWorks(TM) Electronic Health Record and Practice Management to automate and connect clinical and administrative processes for their 80 physicians.

The agreement with the two Ohio practices comes through MediSync, a Cincinnati management services organization that provides comprehensive management services to both medical groups, including all levels of management staffing and infrastructure. Under the agreement, MediSync purchased TouchWorks licenses for PriMed’s 65 multi-specialty physicians and Health First’s 15 family practice physicians, as well as another 120 licenses for anticipated growth.

“Under MediSync’s management, PriMed and Health First have achieved financial and quality-of-care results that are among the nation’s highest, but there comes a point where you can only do so much of that work on paper,” said Bob Matthews, Chief Executive Officer of MediSync and Executive Director of both medical groups, as well as director of a third MediSync client, Centers for Foot and Ankle Care, which has 16 Cincinnati-area locations. “Allscripts provides the sophisticated tools and information that we need to take our results in the clinic and the back office to the next level.”

TouchWorks is a combined Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Practice Management (PM) Solution (www.allscripts.com/touchworks) that is built on a single intelligent platform with Microsoft SQL Server technology to meet the clinical and administrative needs of medical groups across the country. For physicians, TouchWorks speeds and automates everyday clinical tasks such as prescribing and refilling medications, ordering and viewing tests, and documenting care. The web-based system enables instant access to patient information anywhere at anytime – in the clinic, at the hospital or while on- call at home. And for administrators, it combines sophisticated scheduling and financial management tools with advanced features such as rule-based appointment scheduling, multi-resource and recurring appointment features, referral and eligibility indicators, and appointment and claims management.

MediSync selected Allscripts for the company’s stability, its strong reputation for client support, and its ability to deliver reliable, interoperable, high-performance clinical and financial solutions.

“We needed a single vendor with the ability to deliver a state-of-the-art solution and Allscripts was the clear choice,” said Matthews, who led MediSync’s three-year search for the right solution. “The EHR is clearly the best available, and the practice management functionality will significantly reduce our labor by automating our administrative processes.”

Dr. Mark Couch, President of PriMed Physicians, said he was most impressed by the Allscripts solution’s intuitive user interface, which will help ensure its adoption by physicians. “In our view, Allscripts is significantly ahead of the pack, not only because it’s designed from the physician’s perspective but, importantly, because it will help our physicians track and increase the quality of care we provide across our entire population of 200,000 patients,” he said.

The Allscripts solution enables practices to automatically track progress in treating chronic diseases such as hypertension, heart disease and diabetes. That information, in turn, is required for participation in private and public pay-for-performance programs, which compensate physicians for providing better care.

“For physician groups to thrive in today’s healthcare market, they need access to the right information at the right time, and the tools to analyze and benefit from that information,” said Glen Tullman, Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts. “Clearly, MediSync has the right people and Allscripts is excited to add the right technology to the mix to help enhance patient care and bottom line performance.”
