New York, NY (January 26, 2009) – Netsmart Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of
enterprise-wide software and services for health and human services organizations, today announced it has entered into a partner referral agreement with the New York State Association of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Providers (ASAP) for Netsmart University, the company’s comprehensive education, online learning and learning management solution.

ASAP is a not-for-profit membership association which seeks to improve the quality of life in the State of New York by advocating for and promoting the highest quality treatment, prevention, research and training in chemical dependency services. The agreement to launch “ASAP University” through Netsmart was announced at NY ASAP’s 11th Annual Conference in New York City.

ASAP University will offer access to Netsmart University’s online and classroom courses to ASAP’s more than 250 member organizations, which includes agencies and programs across the State of New York that provide alcoholism and substance abuse prevention, treatment, research and training programs.

Netsmart University’s full-featured learning management system enables organizations to create
Web-based corporate learning portals to support employee training and development, gain staff continuing education units (CEUs), and improve staff retention and productivity.

“Netsmart University’s capabilities gives ASAP members a cost-effective and efficient way to access continuing education and professional training that is critical to the field in a forum that is both convenient and conducive to these challenging economic times,” said ASAP’s Executive Director John Coppola. “Accessing this training through ASAP’s Web site makes it possible to bypass geographical boundaries by offering a forum where they can share best practices and other professional development opportunities. We are pleased to provide this additional benefit to our members.”

ASAP University will offer specific courses to meet the ASAP membership’s needs and interests. Offering this innovative education and training portal is in keeping with ASAP’s commitment to make available to the chemical dependency field access to best practices in workforce development, education and training. ASAP University will provide an opportunity for members to access continuously updated,
research-based, effective resources for training and continuing education.

“We’re delighted to partner with NY ASAP to bring ASAP University to its member organizations. Netsmart’s Learning Management System will provide NY ASAP with the ability to easily manage online, blended and traditional classroom training, and provide access to a library of more than 400 online courses,” said Liz Vasti, vice president, Netsmart University.
