Netsmart Technologies Launches Mobile Software Solution

Avatar Mobile Provides Data Management Capabilities for Clinicians and Caseworkers Without a Network Connection Outside Traditional Care Delivery Settings

Great River, NY (October 05, 2006) –

Netsmart Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTST),
a leading provider of enterprise-wide software for health and human services organizations, today announced the availability of Avatar Mobile, a software solution that enables Netsmart Avatar users to view and update information in the field.

Avatar Mobile is designed to help clinicians and caseworkers reduce paperwork and maximize consumer contact time by allowing them to enter progress notes and other information into a notebook computer, tablet PC or other device while in the field and disconnected from their organization’s network. The data can then be quickly and securely synchronized with the electronic medical record data in a base Avatar system back at their agency.

Designed with a Services-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Avatar Mobile is designed to support the elements of a multi-disciplinary electronic medical record. Remote staff can select from a combination of options, including:

o Client Demographics: Displays current information and allows edits and modifications discovered during a field visit;

o Service Entry: Remote staff can enter services and progress notes, which automatically generate the appropriate charges when the mobile data is synched;

o Progress Notes: Users of Avatar Mobile can associate progress notes with a person or with an existing service;

o Treatment Planning: Avatar Mobile includes comprehensive treatment planning capabilities. Its treatment plan library displays all available industry-standard Wiley treatments plans and supports user-defined treatment plans, all shown in a group-tree structure;

Content Management: Avatar Mobile’s compatibility with Netsmart’s RADplus content management tool is designed to enable organizations to easily use agency-specific data collection like assessments, treatment plans and progress notes in a disconnected environment.

Client demographics, service entries and progress notes made in the field are automatically synchronized with information in an agency’s Avatar base system to assure complete, updated records.

“Our success is directly tied to the degree to which we help our customers be successful in serving their clients,” said Alan Tillinghast, Netsmart executive vice president, Operations. “Avatar Mobile is an example of our ability to provide solutions designed to meet the specific needs of our customers in a rapidly evolving care environment.”
