MedNetwoRx Selects Allscripts Electronic Health Record and Practice Management for 115 Providers and Retail Medical Clinics
Dallas Company to Automate Clinical, Financial Operations in Physician Practices and Retail Medical Clinics
CHICAGO and DALLAS (November 09, 2006) –
Allscripts (Nasdaq: MDRX), the leading provider of clinical software, connectivity and information solutions that physicians use to improve healthcare, announced today that MedNetwoRx will deploy TouchWorks(TM) Electronic Health Record and Practice Management to automate and connect clinical and administrative processes for 115 physicians and in MedXpress retail medical clinics.

MedNetwoRx is an Application Service Provider (ASP) that hosts and supports clinical and practice management software for more than 1,000 physicians across Texas. The company will initially provide 45 physicians with the TouchWorks Electronic Health Record and another 70 physicians with the TouchWorks Practice Management solution.

Additionally, MedNetwoRx will provide the combined Electronic Health Record and Practice Management solution to Dallas-based MedXpress, Inc. for use initially in five Dallas-area medical clinics inside Minyard grocery stores. MedXpress clinics provide walk-in medical services inside large retail outlets with fast, convenient and affordable treatment for routine medical conditions and preventive care.

TouchWorks Practice Management (PM) combines sophisticated scheduling and financial management tools in a single package and incorporates advanced features such as rule-based appointment scheduling, multi-resource and recurring appointment features, referral and eligibility indicators, and appointment and claims management. The combined EHR-PM solution is built on a single intelligent platform with Microsoft SQL Server technology to meet the clinical and administrative needs of medical groups across the country.
