Mark N. Bair, M.D., and Jordan L. Shlain, M.D., join independent physician advisory board to Ingenix
New advisors bring expertise in emergency department and internal medicine to help Ingenix support the role of physicians in modernizing health communities
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (April 26, 2011) –
Ingenix announced that Mark N. Bair, M.D., R.Ph., F.A.C.E.P., and Jordan L. Shlain, M.D., have joined the independent physician advisory board that guides the company’s efforts to help constructively modernize the health care system for physicians.

Bair is an emergency department physician and CFO for Emergency Medical Services Inc. in Utah. He has been an emergency department physician for 20 years. Bair also serves on the Utah Health Information Network (UHIN) board of directors and as chairman of the Privacy and Security Committee and member at large on UHIN’s executive committee. After finishing his residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago/Mercy, Bair returned to Utah where he practiced emergency medicine and served as an assistant clinical professor of surgery. He has received several honors, most recently the Utah Association of Emergency Medical Technicians’ Medical Professional of the Year Award and the American College of Emergency Physicians’ Hero of Emergency Medicine.
Shlain practices internal medicine and is medical director and founder of Current Health Medical Group, a primary care medical home in San Francisco. He launched Current Health Medical Group in 1997 with the goal of strengthening the doctor-patient relationship. Shlain also serves as medical ethics lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley, a commissioner for the San Francisco Health Service System, and a team leader for the Hope Street Group, a bipartisan policy think tank in Washington, D.C. He is president-elect of the American Academy of Private Physicians.
The Ingenix Physician Advisory Board is composed of a multidisciplinary group of experts who provide input that enhances the capabilities of current Ingenix solutions for helping clinicians improve the quality and outcomes of patient care.
