CHICAGO and GLENDALE, Calif. (October 11, 2007) –

LSI is a comprehensive healthcare organization that, through its affiliated medical groups, provides healthcare to approximately 250,000 patients in the North Los Angeles and Ventura County region. LSI was recently formed from the combination of Community Medical Group, Progressive Health Systems, Lakeside Healthcare, Lakeside Medical Group, and Lakeside Medical Associates. The combined organization is now one of the largest physician organizations in California with both an integrated multispecialty group and an independent practice association (IPA). With a commitment to providing quality healthcare, the LSI member organizations merged, in part, to leverage their size in offering the Electronic Health Record from Allscripts to their physicians.

“Both independent physicians and those in group medical practices need the latest technology to provide cost-effective, high quality healthcare, and Allscripts delivers that for our physicians and their patients,” said Francesco Federico, M.D., Chief Executive Officer of LSI. “With the merger of our organizations, Lakeside Systems now has the leverage to bring the electronic health record to the community to fulfill our vision of a fully integrated healthcare delivery system that provides high quality, affordable patient care.”

The Electronic Health Record from Allscripts automates everyday clinical tasks such as prescribing medications, ordering and viewing laboratory tests, and documenting patient care. The web-based solution will connect physicians and other healthcare providers across the LSI network to laboratories, pharmacies, insurers and other providers, while delivering secure, immediate access to patient information anywhere and at any time. Important features of the Electronic Health Record include robust tools for documentation and orders, seamless support for pay-for-performance initiatives, clinical trials integration, and plug-and-play connectivity to more than 100 medical devices through the Universal Application Integrator(TM). Allscripts also provides 1,200 ready-to-use CareGuide templates with best practice guidelines, and automated health management plans customized for each patient.

To connect providers to patients, LSI will implement iHealth from Allscripts, providing patients with a secure, online Personal Health Record and patient-provider communications. And the Electronic Health Record will be integrated with the organization’s existing Centricity Business (formally IDX(R) Flowcast(R)) practice management system, linking LSI’s clinical and financial functions for enhanced productivity and patient service.

“We’re excited to partner with Lakeside Systems to deliver on their vision of creating an interconnected healthcare experience for their patients in Southern California,” said Allscripts Chief Executive Officer Glen Tullman. “To compete in today’s healthcare environment, physicians need to deliver high quality patient care cost-effectively. The only way to make that happen is using an Electronic Health Record that delivers information when and where it’s needed most — at the point of care — and that provides connectivity to pharmacies, labs, payers and most important, patients, through our iHealth service. It’s exciting to be a part of the future of healthcare.”

Lakeside Systems Inc. selected Allscripts for the company’s stability, its strong reputation for client support, and its ability to deliver reliable, interoperable, high-performance clinical and financial solutions.

“We’ve been looking at electronic health records for years, and we selected Allscripts because it is a mature product that’s very physician friendly, so we feel our physicians will have no problem accepting it,” said Marvin Kanter, M.D., Chief Executive Officer of Progressive Healthcare Systems, now part of LSI. “This will improve quality by enabling our physicians to practice state of the art medicine following evidence-based guidelines, and also by dramatically reducing errors.”
