â??As a participating vendor, Intivia is poised to assist primary care practices in New Jersey to successfully adopt Electronic Health Records (EHR) and achieve Meaningful Use.â?
Piscataway, NJ (June 24, 2011) –
Intivia, Inc., a leading provider of integrated Electronic Medical Records and Practice Management Software called InSync®, announced today that it has been selected as a participating EHR vendor by the New Jersey Health Information Technology Extension Center (NJ-HITEC), the federally designated Regional Extension Center (REC) for New Jersey established by the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) through a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the National Coordinator.
As a qualified EHR Vendor with NJ-HITEC, Intivia will be able to help small practices drive EMR adoption and leverage the benefits of InSync® EMR & Practice Management Software.
Intivia was selected after a thorough and rigorous process. NJ-HITEC only works with established vendors that support significant growth in EHR adoption in the area. The selection process evaluated Intivia’s strengths, background, ONC-ATCB Certification and its software capabilities to help small primary care practices meet ‘Meaningful Use’ guidelines defined by the federal HITECH Act. Intivia met and exceeded the selection criteria.
Executive Director of NJ-HITEC, Bill O’Byrne, stated, “We are pleased to add Intivia to our list of NJ-HITEC participating vendors. These vendors have been fully accredited by the ONC and have agreed to comply with the high standards of provider satisfaction that NJ-HITEC expects from its participating vendors. It provides our members with another excellent choice when selecting an EHR system.”
James Decker, Vice President of Sales and Marketing with Intivia, Inc., added, “We are pleased to partner with NJ-HITEC and provide our solution to the primary care provider community in our home state of New Jersey. We feel that the combination of InSync’s features, benefits and competitive pricing will help primary care practices take the next steps toward EMR adoption.”
In April 2008, NJIT received a $23 million grant from the ONC, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to support primary health care providers in accelerating the adoption of health information technology. NJ-HITEC was established through this grant to serve at least 5,000 primary care providers during the next four years. NJ-HITEC’s long-term objective is to have New Jersey’s primary care providers become proficient users of EHR systems utilizing the systems’ interoperability via Health Information Exchanges (HIEs).
