Ingenix ClaimsManager Now Available to Help Small- and Medium-sized Physician Practices Achieve First-Pass Claims Accuracy and Prevent Payment Delays

Cloud-computing solutions to help reduce denied claims so physicians receive payments faster

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (December 07, 2010) –

Ingenix ClaimsManager(TM) software, which helps physician practices increase first-pass acceptance of claims submitted to health plans and receive payments faster is now fully available for the first time to small- and mid-sized physician practices those with fewer than 50 doctors.

By making Ingenix ClaimsManager software accessible through two new Web-based services, Ingenix is eliminating the need for physicians to purchase hardware and install software in their offices in order to use the tools. Such health IT infrastructure-related costs have historically limited use of this type of software to larger physician groups.

The new cloud-computing based version of Ingenix ClaimsManager provides access to the software from anywhere through a simple Web browser, and can be integrated with existing practice management applications. Ingenix hosts the secure, online infrastructure and manages upgrades automatically for a low monthly subscription cost. Ingenix also offers Advanced Clinical Editing, a service that for the first time enables users to review and edit medical claims individually as they submit them through Ingenix Transaction Exchange, a clearinghouse used by more than 35,000 physicians to route HIPAA-compliant transactions to more than 1,900 health plans and other partners.

“The new cloud-computing platform for Ingenix ClaimsManager and Advanced Clinical Editing makes it easier for small- and medium-sized physician practices to leverage tools that improve productivity and reduce administrative back-and-forth with health for reimbursement,” said Thomas Boehning, vice president and general manager of claims integrity and connectivity solutions at Ingenix.
About Ingenix Claims Manager
Ingenix ClaimsManager reviews medical claims and validates diagnosis and procedure codes using the same rules used by Medicare and commercial health plans. The software alerts users to potential claims coding errors and provides easy-to-use editing tools physician practices can use to correct medical claims before submitting them to health plans. Ingenix ClaimsManager enables health care providers to improve billing accuracy, reduce denied claims (up to 70 percent according to Ingenix case studies), avoid the administrative costs of appealing rejected claims and support receipt of timely and accurate payments.
