CHICAGO (March 27, 2006) –

Allscripts (Nasdaq:MDRX), the leading provider of clinical software, connectivity and information solutions that physicians use to improve healthcare, announced today that the Company’s Chief Executive Officer, Glen Tullman, was named as ‘CEO of the Year’, during the 2006 CityLIGHTS Award Ceremony by the Illinois Information Technology Association (ITA).

This year marked CityLIGHTS 7th annual celebration of vitality and innovation in the Illinois technology community. The awards honor those individuals and companies whose innovation and success are driving change in Illinois.

“ITA is honored to recognize Glen Tullman as our CEO of the Year. The success of the company as well as his other accomplishments is to be commended and emulated. Glen is a prime example of the great talent in Illinois’ IT industry,” said Fred Hoch, President of Illinois IT Association.

The CityLIGHTS ‘CEO of the Year’ Award represents the Chief Executive Officer who has taken their company to new heights in the past year. This year’s finalists included Ed Zander, Chief Executive Officer of Motorola, Inc., and Roderick Walker, President and Chief Executive Officer of Knightsbridge Solutions.

“A great CEO surrounds himself or herself with great people and I’m fortunate to have a world class management team and hundreds of committed individuals who work at Allscripts and are committed to using our software and technology to improve healthcare,” said Glen Tullman, Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts. “My selection of ‘CEO of the Year’ by the Illinois Technology Association is a great honor for me and I accept it on behalf of our company and all of our employees.”

Mr. Tullman joined Allscripts as Chief Executive Officer in 1997. On his arrival, Mr. Tullman brought in a new management team and took the Company public.
