CHICAGO & HOT SPRINGS, Ark (May 11, 2006) –

Allscripts (Nasdaq:MDRX), the leading provider of clinical software, connectivity and information solutions that physicians use to improve healthcare, announced today that Heritage Physician Group will deploy the TouchWorks(TM) Electronic Health Record, connecting its more than 40 physicians across eight office locations and enabling the group to more aggressively participate in clinical trials.

As a multi-specialty group caring for patients across multiple offices, Heritage Physician Group required an Electronic Health Record that would provide physicians with the functionality they required to enhance patient care and office efficiency, and that offered a vision of new future services.

“Heritage Physician Group believes that by automating our medical records system, our physicians will have better information to care for their patients and spend less time following the paper trail of medical records,” said Terry Brown, Chief Executive Officer of Heritage Physician Group. “We concluded that Allscripts was not only the safe choice for an Electronic Medical Record, but that it also offered a unique view of the future, including programs like clinical trials participation, which fit both the immediate and long-term goals of our group.”

Along with the Electronic Health Record, Heritage Physician Group will implement TouchWorks Study Manager(TM) to enhance its current clinical trials program. TouchWorks Study Manager is designed to make the process of conducting clinical trials more efficient, more organized, more accurate and more profitable. TouchWorks Study Manager is based on the popular Study Manager product from Advanced Clinical Solutions, the most widely deployed clinical trials management software in the US, used by more than 10,000 research professionals in more than 1,800 provider organizations and clinics nationwide. TouchWorks Study Manager provides physician practices with the data tools to more easily participate in clinical research, resulting in advanced care options for patients and improved profitability for the practice.

“We are excited to partner with Heritage Physician Group as they transform patient care in Central Arkansas,” said Glen Tullman, Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts. “By taking their clinical trials program to the next level with TouchWorks, Heritage physicians now will be able to provide the highest level of patient care while, at the same time, driving additional revenue for the practice.”

Heritage Physician Group will integrate TouchWorks with their existing IDX(R) Groupcast(TM) practice management system. Allscripts and IDX, now a part of GE Healthcare, share a strategic relationship that directly links clinical and financial information systems to support process redesign and operational enhancements.
