Weston, FL (September 01, 2010) –

gMed announced today that it has been selected as the first and only Registry Preferred EMR Provider for the American Gastroenterology Association Digestive Health Outcomes Registryâ,,¢. The American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) initiative, evaluates EHR providers and approves them based their ability to integrate the registry’s measurement and data abstraction standards into practice.

The Digestive Health Outcomes Registry allows gastroenterologists to monitor and improve patient care, while also generating data to compare the efficacy of treatments and potentially increase reimbursement. It has also been designed to minimize overhead and time spent on data entry while immediately delivering valuable tools that gastroenterology practices can use. Specifically the AGA Registry includes workflow-driven solutions, quarterly and on-demand reporting, comparative benchmarking, population management, and PQRI submissions.

Joe Rubinsztain, M.D., CEO of gMED, added, “We are proud to be the first to partner with the AGA and MedAssurant to improve the health of gastroenterology in general. We are certain EHRs will change the way healthcare information is managed, as well as the way in which it is leveraged to inform and drive positive change for patients and providers. We welcome the opportunity to be on the leading edge of this transformation.”
