Florida State University Selects eClinicalWorks

University Will Utilize Unified Electronic Medical Records System to Enhance Healthcare for More Than 41,000 Students

WESTBOROUGH, Mass. (October 02, 2011) – eClinicalWorks®, a market leader in ambulatory clinical systems, today announced that Florida State University (FSU) will utilize eClinicalWorks unified electronic medical record (EMR) and practice management (PM) system in its student health services, serving the University’s 41,000 students. eClinicalWorks will provide FSU with a comprehensive system that will improve the quality of care and provide improved reporting capabilities.

“Florida State University provides its students with a breadth of services to meet their health needs while away from home,” said Lesley Sacher, director at Florida State University’s Student Health Services. “This led us to search for a system that would help bring everyone together. eClinicalWorks’ solid track record with other campus health centers around the country along with the system’s rich billing and financial management features, made this a clear choice. With this system, we expect overall productivity to increase along with overall quality of care.”

FSU student health services will migrate from its current system to the eClinicalWorks unified EMR/PM system for maintaining and accessing patient medical information. FSU manages care for 41,000 students and had a total of 61,000 patient visits last year. The school will utilize bi-directional interfaces with the university’s registrar office for demographics, eligibility and immunization records. Additional interfaces between eClinicalWorks and its Philips radiology system and Quest laboratory system will further automate FSU and improve electronic communication. FSU’s student health services handle most facets of student health including first responder, primary care, psychiatry and immunizations.

“eClinicalWorks has a wide footprint in this growing market,” said Girish Kumar Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks. “Our experience and successful implementations with student health centers make us a good fit for Florida State University and we look forward to adding value to its Campus Health Services by facilitating remote and immediate access to patient information. This will enable providers to concentrate more on delivering quality care.”
