Consulting Magazine Names Stephen Wood “Top 25 Consultant”
Award Recognizes Wood’s Leadership in Helping Clients Navigate the Government Payer Space
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (June 24, 2009) –
Stephen P. Wood, senior vice president of Government Programs Optimization for Ingenix Consulting, has been named a “Top 25 Consultant” by Consulting magazine. The annual awards honor 25 consultants who show expertise and leadership in one of eight categories, such as client service, leadership or excellence in an industry segment. Wood received the “Excellence in Healthcare” award at the gala award dinner on June 17. He is featured in the May/June 2009 issue of Consulting magazine.
“We’re thankful for this recognition of Stephen’s leadership and expertise working with clients navigating the government payer space, in particular Medicare Advantage and Part D strategies and product offerings,” said Ted Chien, CEO, Ingenix Consulting. “Stephen’s leadership has contributed significantly to Ingenix Consulting’s breadth of expertise in market needs, funding mechanisms, product variations, operational requirements and regulatory parameters, and has enabled Ingenix Consulting to be a trusted advisor to both industry and the government in the debate over healthcare reform in the payer segment.”
Under Wood’s leadership, Ingenix Consulting expanded its leadership position serving a range of Medicare Advantage (MA) and Part D clients. In his current role, Wood and his team help clients improve performance of their Medicare and Medicaid lines of business through market strategy, plan design, benefit pricing, bid development, network contracting, financial reporting, revenue management, operational improvement compliance, and medical management program design, evaluation and improvement.
Wood has more than 20 years of experience in managed care, governmental programs, senior markets and strategic consulting within the health care industry. Prior to joining Ingenix Consulting, he served as principal of Tillinghast–Towers Perrin where he led the firm’s senior markets practice. He also was managing director of Strategic Consulting Services at the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association and held senior roles with the American Hospital Association and the Hammon Clinic, a large medical group practice.
The “Top 25 Consultants” awards were presented at the Union League Club in New York City on June 17.
