ChartLogic Welcomes New Electronic Medical Record Client in Montana

Industry leader proud to help new orthopaedic clinic transition to digital office

Big Sky, Montana (January 14, 2007) – ChartLogic, Inc, a leader in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) industry is pleased to announce the addition of Billings, Mont.-based Montana Orthopedics & Sports Medicine as a new EMR client.

Established in 1969, Montana Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is an eight-physician practice with more than 40 employees that spent 12 months actively examining their EHR choices before concluding ChartLogic EMR and ChartLogic Practice Management, a medical billing software, were the products that best suited their needs, said orthopaedic hand surgeon Ralph M. Costanzo, MD.

“Chartlogic has the best embedded voice recognition software and that was primarily important to us as we have broad spectrum of doctors, some of whom use templates and some who dictate–ChartLogic allows them all to do both with minimal disruption to the way they practice,” Dr. Costanzo said. “Montana Orthopedics physicians were additionally very happy with ChartLogic’s Practice Management solution helping us rid ourselves of transcription costs, improving efficiencies in the office and managing our information technology.”

Montana Orthopedics & Sports Medicine spent close to $110,000 in transcription costs in 2006–an expenditure the practice anticipates will be recouped within three years or less, following the implementation of ChartLogic. “We are going to see great cost savings and employee and physician satisfaction from having ChartLogic,” Dr. Costanzo said.

ChartLogic is driven by its state-of-the-art voice recognition technology that is continually refined by its voice experts. Using the power of PrecisionVoice(TM), ChartLogic EMR enables physicians to

quickly and accurately complete patient notes, navigate through the system through voice commands that know each doctor’s person voice, and use orthopaedic-specific vocabulary. The result is a 99.8 percent accuracy rate, one of the best in the EMR industry.

Practice manager Jean Becker said that although the staff was involved in the EMR search, the physicians’ decision was most important. “We didn’t want to purchase a product that they weren’t comfortable with or couldn’t use. We wanted to be certain it would be a system they could use immediately and not have sitting idle,” Becker said. “We knew ChartLogic was the right product because it was the first EMR our physicians became excited about, in particular for its voice capabilities and main interface that doesn’t require you to click several drop down menus before being able to access the patient note.”
