Bridgewater Goddard Park Medical Associates Selects Allscripts Electronic Health Record

Largest Medical Group in Massachusetts e-Health Collaborative Will Use EHR to Enhance Care, Connect to Community Providers

CHICAGO & BROCKTON, Mass.- (July 11, 2006) –

Allscripts (Nasdaq:MDRX), the leading provider of clinical software, connectivity and information solutions that physicians use to improve healthcare, today announced that Bridgewater Goddard Park Medical Associates has selected the TouchWorks(TM) Electronic Health Record (EHR) to automate their 70 physicians across four locations and connect them to the wider healthcare community.

Bridgewater Goddard Park is one of the largest independent physician-owned multi-specialty and multi-site group practices south of Boston and is affiliated with the renowned Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The group’s implementation of the Web-based Allscripts Electronic Health Record comes of their involvement in the Massachusetts e-Health Collaborative (MAeHC) – a three-year pilot program funded by a $50 million financial commitment from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts to demonstrate the ability of information systems to improve the safety, cost effectiveness, and quality of healthcare in Massachusetts. Bridgewater Goddard Park is the largest physician group in the state to receive funding from MAeHC.

“As a part of the MAeHC pilot, we reviewed many of the leading Electronic Health Record vendors and determined Allscripts was clearly the safe choice because they have successfully implemented TouchWorks in many medical groups of our size across the country,” said Deb Wilson, Chief Executive Officer of Bridgewater Goddard Park. “Allscripts is the perfect choice for the Massachusetts e-Health Collaborative, because the solution is highly interoperable, enabling our providers to take part in the community initiative to electronically connect Bridgewater Goddard Park with other area healthcare facilities.”

The MAeHC pilot program requires showcase sites to collaborate with other regional healthcare organizations in deploying interoperable clinical information systems. Bridgewater Goddard Park will use the Allscripts Electronic Health Record to share access to patient medical records electronically with the other members of the Brockton-area demonstration group, including Brockton Hospital, Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center, Brockton Physician Hospital Organization, Inc., Caritas Good Samaritan IPA, Inc., and Brockton Neighborhood Health Center.

“The partnership between Bridgewater Goddard Park and Allscripts provides a pathway for medical groups across Massachusetts to adopt an Electronic Health Record and improve their quality of care and efficiency,” said Micky Tripathi, Chief Executive Officer of MAeHC.

Bridgewater Goddard Park will integrate TouchWorks with their Centricity Business (formerly IDX(R) Flowcast(TM)) revenue cycle management system. Allscripts and IDX, now a part of GE Healthcare, share a strategic relationship that directly links clinical and financial information systems to support process redesign and operational enhancements.

“We commend Bridgewater Goddard Park for participating in the Massachusetts e-Health Collaborative and for their commitment to leveraging information technology to improve care for the state’s residents,” said Glen Tullman, Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts. “The connectivity and interoperability of the Electronic Health Record are critical to enhancing safety, lowering costs, and raising the bar on quality for Bridgewater Goddard Park’s patients and, ultimately, for patients throughout Massachusetts.”
