athenahealth Named to Forbes’ List of America’s 25 Fastest-Growing Tech Companies
WATERTOWN, Mass. (May 09, 2012) – athenahealth, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATHN), a leading provider of cloud-based practice management, electronic health record (EHR), and care coordination services to medical groups, today announced it was named to Forbes’ annual list of America’s 25 Fastest-Growing Tech Companies. athenahealth secured the #4 ranking, in close standing to Apple and LinkedIn.

To select the winners, Forbes looked at over 5,000 publicly traded technology companies with a minimum revenue of $150 million and a minimum market value of $500 million. The companies were also required to have a sales growth of at least 10 percent for each of the past three fiscal years and over the latest 12 months. Additionally, they needed a three-to-five-year estimated earnings-per-share growth rates greater than 10 percent. The finalists were ranked based on their three-year average sales growth rates.
