Allscripts User Conference Draws 2,700, Sets Attendance Record

Allscripts ‘Client Experience’ Focused on Education, Stimulus, and Introduction of Products Key to Vision of Interoperable and Connected System of Health

ORLANDO, Fla (July 30, 2009) –

With a full agenda of events, education sessions, new product introductions and a wide range of networking opportunities, Allscripts (Nasdaq: MDRX) today launched its annual Allscripts Client Experience (ACE) user conference for physicians and healthcare professionals nationwide. A record 2,700 attendees registered for the conference, driven by strong interest in Electronic Health Record stimulus funding provided by the federal government, and by client interest in the full suite of solutions offered by Allscripts following its October 2008 merger with Misys Healthcare.

With Stimulus payments authorized by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act fast approaching, the Allscripts Client Experience provides attendees a first-hand view of innovation from Allscripts, as well as the chance to share best practices on systems, deployments and utilization. This includes previews of upcoming versions of Allscripts Electronic Health Records, Practice Management, Electronic Prescribing, Revenue Cycle Management, Emergency Department Information, Care Management, Home Care, Document Management, and Post-Acute solutions.

Additionally, Allscripts will feature innovations such as the recently-launched Allscripts Patient Kiosk, enabling physician practices to reduce the costs and overhead associated with patient check-in, and helping patients take control of their own healthcare with a dashboard view of their personal information, including a complete health maintenance plan. Attendees also will experience Allscripts Remote(TM), providing physicians virtually anytime, anywhere access to and control of Allscripts Electronic Health Records. Allscripts Remote is available now for the iPhone(TM), and later this year for Blackberry and Windows Mobile devices.

“The significant increase in attendance at ACE this year indicates to me that our clients not only are interested in finding out more about the federal stimulus funding for electronic health records, but also more about the company itself and the new solutions we have available as a result of the merger,” said Glen Tullman, Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts. “This week, we’ll highlight all of those solutions and the opportunity for healthcare organizations of all sizes, whether physician groups, hospitals or post-acute facilities, to connect to health with Allscripts.”

The conference features more than 300 educational sessions designed to help attendees increase their knowledge and efficiency around the applications they use on a daily basis; general sessions in which Allscripts executives will outline product strategy and vision; and the Expo Hall, where attendees will have the chance to interact with more than 50 Allscripts business partners and expert Allscripts employees for a demonstration of the latest innovative products and services Allscripts has to offer.

In addition to the official agenda, ACE is about networking. “Over the years, it’s the face-to-face interactions that are the cornerstone of ACE,” said Dan Michelson, Chief Marketing Officer of Allscripts. “This is the ideal forum for customers to meet with Allscripts team members, fellow clients, business partners, and vendors who truly understand the challenges they face in trying to improve the quality and lower the cost of healthcare today.”

While the primary beneficiaries of the conference are customers, Michelson said that Allscripts benefits as well. “Clients who use our systems every day are the ultimate authority on what works, and what doesn’t,” Michelson said. “The feedback clients share with us at ACE helps determine where we invest and how we enhance our solutions.”
