Allscripts HealthMatics Office Selected By Physician Practices Across the Nation

Allscripts HealthMatics Group Wins Software Company of the Year Award from North Carolina Technology Association

CHICAGO (November 22, 2006) –

Allscripts (Nasdaq: MDRX), the leading provider of clinical software, connectivity and information solutions that physicians use to improve healthcare, today announced several agreements for its HealthMatics(R) Office solution to small and mid-sized physician practices during the third quarter of the year.

Primary care physician groups across the country are adopting the integrated Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Practice Management System (PMS) to streamline and speed vital clinical and administrative functions. In a related development, Allscripts was honored with the “Software Company of the Year” award from the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA). The award recognizes outstanding contributions that information technology companies and individuals in North Carolina have made over the past year to the technology industry, their community, and the state. The HealthMatics group’s primary office is in Cary, N.C.

“Physician practices today are faced with the challenging task of elevating patient care and meeting quality standards — all during a time of reimbursement and liability pressures,” said Glen Tullman, Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts. “Whether it’s effectively treating patients with chronic conditions according to national guidelines, exercising preventative medicine or streamlining claims management, HealthMatics Office enables practices to have only one system for effective and efficient clinical, administrative and financial management.”

From July through the end of September of this year, HealthMatics Office was adopted by numerous primary care physician groups across the U.S. including:

— The six physicians of Family Wellness Center in Vancouver, Wash. “We
feel Allscripts is the product that best meets our need to efficiently
provide quality patient care, and do so in a way that meets Pay for
Performance requirements,” said Cathy Bolt Jones, Administrator of
Family Wellness Center.
— The eight physicians and three nurse practitioners of Commonwealth
Physicians for Women in Richmond, Va. “We feel HealthMatics is the best

integrated EHR and PM system on the market because of its ease of use
and functionality,” stated Patty Wood, Administrator of Commonwealth.
“Additionally, it has the functionality and content uniquely suited for

OB-GYN.”
— The six physicians of Northside ENT in Indianapolis. “The combined
EHR/PMS gives us better patient care by delivering faster access to
patient information and better control of the operational flow of the
practice,” commented Paul Rosiek, the practice’s Administrator.
— The 11 physicians of Chapel Hill Pediatrics in Chapel Hill, N.C. “In
our view, there is no better solution for integrating and streamlining
clinical documentation and financial management for a small physician
practice,” said Mary Sheppard, Practice Manager of Chapel Hill
Pediatrics.

Many specialty groups also adopted the Allscripts solution, including:

— Grand Island Clinic in Grand Island, Neb.
— Heartland Vein and Vascular Institute, PC of Omaha, Neb.
— Virginia Foot & Ankle Center of Fairfax, Va.
— Mid Michigan Dermatology, P.C. of Lansing, Mich.
— Florida Heart and Vascular of Tampa, Fla.
— Foothills Urology of Rutherfordton, N.C.
— Midwest Cardiology of Belleville, Ill.
— North Coast Kidney Consultants of Oceanside, Calif.
— Sunrise Urology, PC of Gilbert, Ariz.
— Danville Gastroenterology Center of Danville, Va.

Allscripts appeals to primary care and specialty groups because the company offers pre-loaded specialty-specific clinical content, in addition to ease of use and strong support services. HealthMatics Office (www.allscripts.com/healthmatics) combines HealthMatics EHR and HealthMatics Ntierprise Practice Management on a single intelligent platform and features robust clinical tools such as health maintenance, decision support, medical necessity checking and formularies.

“Physician practices of all sizes have clearly determined that the Electronic Health Record is essential for automating and connecting their physicians and making their practices more efficient and safer for their patients,” said David Bond, President of Allscripts HealthMatics Group. “Our fully integrated HealthMatics Office product enables small physician practices to effectively and efficiently manage their clinical, administrative and financial functions.”
