Allscripts (Nasdaq: MDRX), the leading provider of clinical software, connectivity and information solutions that physicians use to improve healthcare, announced today that Chief Executive Office Glen Tullman has accepted an appointment to the Board of Trustees of the Certification Committee for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT(SM)). Founded in 2004, CCHIT is an independent, nonprofit organization deemed a Recognized Certification Body by the Department of Health and Human Services for health information technologies including the Electronic Health Record.

The newly formed CCHIT board of trustees will assume fiduciary responsibility, one of the elements required for the organization to become a fully independent, nonprofit organization. Mr. Tullman, like the other six initial members of the board of trustees, was appointed by the Operating Committee composed of the three founding organizations – the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and The National Alliance for Health Information Technology (Alliance).

Joining Mr. Tullman on the CCHIT Board of Trustees are:

— Scott Wallace, President and Chief Executive Office, The National
Alliance for Health Information Technology.

Mr. Tullman and the other board members will serve a 3-year term. The group will be joined by commission chair, Dr. Leavitt and Executive Director, Alisa Ray.
