Advanced Data Systems Named as a Finalist Vendor in the Central Jersey HIE Project
PARAMUS, N.J. (September 08, 2010) – Advanced Data Systems Corporation (ADS) is pleased to announce that it has been named as a finalist vendor by the Central Jersey Health Information Exchange Project (CJHIEP).
The core purposes of CJHIEP are to promote the rollout of Electronic Medical Record technology into physician practices and, as an HIE, to provide for the exchange and sharing of clinical data between the practitioners, hospitals, and other healthcare stakeholders with their patients in the central New Jersey region.
CJHIEP covers hundreds of physicians in and around the New Brunswick region, incorporating the general locations of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and Saint Peter’s Hospital.
Once stabilized between the major hospitals and the physicians in the region, this exchange system will be expanded to include the numerous other healthcare facilities throughout the region. Subsequently, referral source and more distant hospital centers from the surrounding catchment areas such as RWJ-Hamilton, RWJ-Rahway, and CentraState and Somerset Medical Centers could be included in the exchange.
Andrew B. Covit MD, Co-Managing Director of the CJHIEP Project said, “The overall goal of CJHIEP is to provide evidence-based interconnected systems between all of the physicians, hospitals, and intermediate care entities such as dialysis and rehabilitation centers, all of which are integral to excellent patient care in the region. The resulting health data repository will then be available for a myriad of public health purposes including patient education, outreach, and quality care improvement efforts. We look forward to ADS presenting their EHR solutions to CJHIEP’s membership.”
David Barzillai, President of ADS noted, “Our specialty-specific MedicsDocAssistant EHR represents state of the art technology for CJHIEP’s members. The entire Medics Suite – which also includes systems for Practice Management, Radiology and PACS – provides tremendous advantages both to the individual practices and the larger provider community that is sharing information, and caring for patients in their regions.”
“ADS is the automation solutions source to tens of thousands of providers. While the Company has offices and staff located throughout North America serving those providers, ADS’ Corporate Offices happen to be in NJ and in close proximity to CJHIEP. We welcome the opportunity to serve CJHIEP’s membership as part of the growing ADS family,” added Mr. Barzillai.
