University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Campus Health Services Selects eClinicalWorks

University Will Use Electronic Medical Records System, including Patient Portal and Enterprise Business Optimizer, to Enhance Healthcare for More Than 28,000 Students

Westborough, Mass. (July 14, 2008) – eClinicalWorks®, a market leader in ambulatory clinical systems, today announced that the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-Chapel Hill) Campus Health Services (CHS) has purchased licenses of eClinicalWorks unified electronic medical record (EMR) and practice management (PM) software. Campus Health Services provides comprehensive outpatient health care for more than 28,000 students who will also utilize eClinicalWorks Patient Portal and Enterprise Business Optimizer (eBO). eClinicalWorks will equip UNC-Chapel Hill Campus Health Services with a comprehensive system for maintaining and accessing patient medical information, while increasing the ease of communication between the campus community served and staff.
Interfaces between eClinicalWorks and Orchard Software’s Harvest Laboratory Information System as well as QS/1’s pharmacy system NRx will further automate CHS and improve electronic communication among the various sections of CHS.

Campus Health Services at UNC-Chapel Hill will implement eClinicalWorks unified EMR/PM system with the goals of streamlining the clinical processes and promoting patient safety while reducing costs and plans to use the Patient Portal to promote increased communication between the students and providers. UNC-Chapel Hill has also chosen to implement eClinicalWorks eBO, which uses meta-data to give the practice more flexibility through the creation of customized reports and by performing clinical and financial analysis.
