Indiana Hospital Implementing eClinicalWorks Unified EMR/PM System, Enterprise Business Optimizer and Electronic Health eXchange for Employed Providers
Westborough, Mass. (December 01, 2009) – eClinicalWorks®, a market leader in ambulatory clinical systems, today announced that Johnson Memorial Hospital has selected the company’s unified electronic medical record (EMR) and practice management (PM) solution to streamline practice operations for the hospital’s employed physicians. Johnson Memorial will also use eClinicalWorks Enterprise Business Optimizer (eBO) to enhance the physician’s ability to access patient’s medical records and eClinicalWorks Electronic Health eXchange (eEHX) to begin building a health records system that allows for broad access to other physicians and hospitals.
“Johnson Memorial Hospital worked closely with its physicians to select a system that would tie all of its practices together, improving communication and patient care,” said Keith Neuman, Director of Information Systems at Johnson Memorial Hospital. “We selected eClinicalWorks for its ease-of-use, extensive reporting capabilities and the ability to create a community record that will allow various authorized physicians access to patient information. This will lead to lower costs by reducing duplicate tests and providing more complete information on the patient.”
Johnson Memorial Hospital is implementing eClinicalWorks unified EMR/PM system to streamline the clinical processes between practice locations connecting all providers into one central system. Johnson Memorial is also utilizing e-prescribing, establishing a two-way electronic connection between the practice and community pharmacies, and eBO, to create better diagnostic reports, and EHX, which will create a community record to give physicians access to patients’ health information and allow them to exchange data more effectively.
“Johnson Memorial Hospital is one of the most progressive hospitals in Central Indiana,” said Girish Kumar Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks. “eClinicalWorks’ track record of rapid deployment and successfully building community networks for supporting interoperability between practices makes it an ideal fit for this hospital. Using eClinicalWorks will allow the hospital’s providers to become even more connected with their patients and each other.”
