Zynx Health and eClinicalWorks Enter Agreement to Offer Clinical Decision Support to EHR Software Users
Los Angeles and Westborough, Mass. (July 21, 2009) – Zynx Health, the leader in evidence-based healthcare, and eClinicalWorks®, a market leader in ambulatory clinical systems, today announced a partnership to provide Zynx AmbulatoryCareTM order sets to eClinicalWorks clients. This evidence-based content will provide an out-the-box solution to help eClinicalWorks clients improve quality of care and succeed in performance measure programs.
“We have a long-standing relationship with both eClinicalWorks and Zynx, making this partnership especially exciting for us,” said Dr. Richard Lopes, Senior Vice President of Clinical Transformation for Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System. “Having the order sets that Zynx provides available directly through the eClinicalWorks EMR is in line with the goal of our Ambulatory Electronic Health Records initiative, which is to enhance care delivery and improve access to care and health information.”
“The new features in eClinicalWorks Version 8 made order sets a key part of clinical workflow,” said Derek Baird, director of business affairs at Zynx. “The fully integrated library of order sets from Zynx will help eClinicalWorks clients take advantage of this new EHR functionality. Evidence-based clinical decision support, such as order sets, is becoming increasingly important as physician practices work to demonstrate ‘meaningful use’ of EHRs in order to take advantage of the funding in ARRA.”
Through this partnership, Zynx order sets will be built directly into the eClinicalWorks EMR, and are available for immediate use by eClinicalWorks clients. This will greatly reduce the time and resources needed to build and maintain order sets, and will help ensure that clinicians are providing care in line with the latest evidence and performance measures. Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), providers will be reimbursed for demonstrating ‘meaningful use’ of an EMR system. This partnership is in line with those goals.
“eClinicalWorks offers its customers the latest technologies to help improve patient care, through both its solutions and its partners,” said Girish Kumar Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks. “Using Zynx with our EMR/PM system will offer providers additional resources in line with the latest performance measures.”
Zynx Health’s outpatient order sets cover more than 100 topics, with a focus on improving chronic disease management, health maintenance, and acute care. Zynx clinicians use a transparent, rigorous, reproducible methodology to create content, and to provide quarterly updates as the evidence changes.
