True Hybrid EHR Solution Tackles Lackluster EHR Adoption Rates
Salt Lake City, Utah (November 24, 2008) – ChartLogic Inc., a leader in the electronic health records industry since 1994, today announced the release of the ChartLogic Hybrid EHR Solution. The ChartLogic Hybrid EHR Solution allows medical providers to adopt a baseline EHR with a simple migration path to a full EHR.
Recent studies have indicated that adoption rates of critical Electronic Health Records software are far below what was previously accepted by the Health Information Technology industry. Many doctors are choosing not to adopt Health IT, instead choosing to keep with inefficient and costly paper processes. Doctors have stated the reasons for lack of adoption are diverse charting styles, the cost of the software, along with an increase in time spent documenting patient encounters.
ChartLogic Hybrid EHR Solution allows medical providers the choice. One provider can choose ChartLogic PaperLess Office(TM), which allows physicians to adopt a digital chart system, without changing their charting method, at a reduced capital investment cost while another provider can choose ChartLogic EMR(TM) – a full EHR Solution that includes the PrecisionVoice(TM) driven charting solution.
“If a provider wants to type their notes in Microsoft Word, if they want to dictate and use a transcription service or handwrite their notes, they can do that with Paperless Office”, said Eric Sorenson, Vice President of Marketing. “PaperLess Office allows them to keep their charting style, yet still eliminate the paper charts in their office.”
Darren Gibson, Vice President of Sales elaborated, “We’ve found that one of the reasons the doctors are not adopting technology, is that a group practice cannot reach a consensus. With this Hybrid EHR Solution, each doctor can choose. Even more important, nobody is choosing a dead end option. Plus, they only pay for what they want – not the full EHR. If a doctor chooses PaperLess Office, they can migrate to a full EHR at any time, without having to train on a new system or having to make a huge new investment. The practices we’re talking to are ecstatic about this. They want to know why we didn’t do this sooner.”
There is concern in the industry about government mandating EHR usage soon. Investment in a dead-end document management solution would cripple a practice. ChartLogic’s offering solves that problem while giving the doctor the choice of their current adoption level.
