11 ChartLogic Physician Customers Receive Meaningful Use Payments
SALT LAKE CITY (June 21, 2011) – ChartLogic Inc., a leading national provider of electronic health records (EHRs) based in Salt Lake City, announced today that 11 of its physician customers have received payments under the first phase of the federal government’s meaningful use program.
“A number of healthcare organizations have observed that it is more difficult for specialist physicians to qualify for meaningful use than family practitioners because they see more new patients on a daily basis. Almost all of our customers are specialists in small medical groups. We are proud that a substantial number successfully attested in the first weeks of the program. It is a reflection of our easy-to-use interface and strong customer service support,” said Brad Melis, executive vice president, ChartLogic.
Physicians who received checks include:
Alan Wamboldt, MD, Orthopedic Surgery, Mesa, AZ |
Brian Steinke, MD, Arizona Spine Care, Phoenix |
James Hawkins, MD, Arizona Spine Care, Phoenix |
Howard Schultheiss, DPM, Bel Air, MD |
Mark Levy, DPM, Rockville, MD |
David Kirby, MD, Moore Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Morehead City, NC |
Jeffrey Moore, MD, Moore Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Morehead City, NC |
Frank De Mayo, MD, Tracy Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Tracy, CA |
Douglas Freedman, MD, West LA Hand, Los Angeles |
The Center for Medicare Services (CMS) announced on May 19 that it issued $75 million to providers who signed up in the first two weeks of the Medicare EHR meaningful use incentive program. April 18 was the first day eligible physicians could attest (submit documentation) for the payments. CMS said that more providers will attest throughout 2011 and that the total amount of Medicare EHR incentive payments will grow.
