ATHENAHEALTH, INC. ANNOUNCES PRICING OF INITIAL PUBLIC OFFERING

WATERTOWN, Mass. (September 19, 2007) – athenahealth, Inc. (Nasdaq:ATHN), today announced the pricing of its initial public offering of 6,286,819 shares of its common stock at a price to the public of $18.00 per share. The 6,286,819 shares to be sold in the offering consist of 5,000,000 shares to be sold by the Company and 1,286,819 shares to be sold by certain stockholders. The Company’s shares are scheduled to begin trading on the NASDAQ Global Market on September 20, 2007 under the trading symbol “ATHN.” The Company intends to use the net proceeds of the offering to repay outstanding debt and for working capital and other general corporate purposes. The Company will not receive any of the proceeds from the sale of common stock held by the selling stockholders. The selling stockholders have granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 943,023 shares at the initial public offering price.

Goldman, Sachs & Co. and Merrill Lynch & Co. acted as joint book runners for the offering. Piper Jaffray & Co. and Jefferies & Company, Inc. acted as co-managers.
