Walla Walla Clinic is a multi-specialty medical group with 35 primary care and specialty physicians and nine mid-level providers. Established in 1936, the clinic has four locations including a stand-alone ambulatory surgery center, physical therapy center, and plastic surgery clinic. Walla Walla Clinic has consistently been designated a “Better-Performing Practice for Profitability and Cost Management” by the Medical Group Management Association.
“We see the delivery of healthcare to our community as a privilege and we are committed to doing so with excellence,” said Duane Lucas-Roberts, Chief Executive Officer of Walla Walla Clinic. “This was a physician-led decision with strong support from our IT team and EHR working group. Our physicians are convinced that, with Allscripts technology, they can deliver on the promise of providing high quality care more efficiently and at lower cost.”
The web-based TouchWorks(TM) EHR speeds and automates everyday clinical tasks such as prescribing and refilling medications, ordering and viewing tests, and documenting care. The Allscripts solution is ranked No. 1 in its market category by the recently released KLAS Top 20: Mid-Year 2007 Report of product and service performance. The Electronic Health Record delivers instant access to patient information anywhere at anytime, whether providers are in the clinic, at the hospital or on-call at home. TouchWorks enables physicians to transform healthcare, with robust tools for documentation and orders, preloaded connections to a range of devices, seamless support for pay- for-performance and quality initiatives, and an advanced user experience that lets users easily configure the system to their own specific needs while protecting the discrete data needed for research and analytics.
“This product really deserves the title of an Electronic Health Record,” said Craig Dreher, the clinic’s IT Director. “It’s the first one that we saw that was complete; that represented great attention to design and integration without loss of focus on how a physician practices medicine. It’s clear that Allscripts truly understands the practice of medicine and the business management of medicine.”
Walla Walla Clinic will integrate TouchWorks with its Centricity Business (formerly IDX Groupcast) practice management system to directly link clinical and financial information across the network. The integration improves end- user productivity, increases patient satisfaction and enhances revenue cycle management by combining clinical and financial data into a common, easy-to- navigate architecture.
“We are proud that Walla Walla Clinic, already recognized as one of the most efficiently run medical practices in the country, has chosen Allscripts for their Electronic Health Record,” said Glen Tullman, Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts. “Our goal is to provide the information and systems physicians can easily use, when and where they need it, to support safer, more effective care for patients.”
