CHICAGO and DALLAS (July 25, 2007) –

Allscripts (Nasdaq: MDRX), the leading provider of clinical software, connectivity and information solutions that physicians use to improve healthcare, announced today that Urology Associates of North Texas (UANT) has selected Allscripts as their Electronic Health Record (EHR) provider to automate and connect their 50 physicians.

UANT is the largest integrated private practice urology group in the United States, with 50 physicians in 20 locations across the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area serving 36,000 new patients each year. The group was one of the first large, single-specialty practices in the nation to adopt a paperless Electronic Health Record solution five years ago, and today has over 350,000 patients in an active database. The Allscripts EHR will replace that system, building upon UANT’s early success with a first generation Electronic Medical Record and taking advantage of the latest technology and features that allow for increased usability, better connectivity to key healthcare stakeholders, and real-time information — all important elements in improving care and participating in pay-for-quality initiatives.

“We have long appreciated the positive impact on quality of care inherent in information technology, and this new partnership with the leading company in the healthcare IT space is a natural next step that will allow us to realize our full potential,” said John House, Managing Partner of UANT. “The ultimate benefit from the new EHR will accrue to our patients in the areas of safety, rapid implementation of recognized best practices, interoperability with other healthcare providers, and efficiencies that should improve the patient experience.”

The web-based Electronic Health Record from Allscripts automates everyday clinical tasks such as prescribing medications and documenting patient visits, while connecting physicians electronically to laboratories, pharmacies, insurers and other key healthcare stakeholders. Ranked No. 1 in its market category by the recently released KLAS Top 20: Mid-Year 2007 Report of product and service performance, Allscripts delivers instant access to patient information anywhere at anytime, whether providers are in the clinic, at the hospital or on-call at home. The solution provides physicians with robust tools for documentation and orders, preloaded connections to a range of devices, seamless support for pay-for-performance and quality initiatives, and an advanced user experience that lets users easily configure the system to their particular needs while protecting the discrete data needed for research and analytics.

“We are convinced that Allscripts will be a great partner with a strong focus on helping us succeed at the business of medicine,” said Robert Dowling, MD, Medical Director of UANT. “We’ve experienced what happens when vendors don’t keep up with changes in a dynamic industry and we believe Allscripts is ahead of the curve with innovative technology that makes the practice of medicine easier, plus lots of experience helping clients migrate from older EHRs.”

UANT will integrate Allscripts with its new Centricity Business (formerly IDX Groupcast) practice management system to directly link clinical and financial information across the network.

“As one of the more innovative and forward-looking specialty practices in the country, UANT provides a good culture match for Allscripts and we look forward to working together to enhance the quality of care for North Texas patients,” said Glen Tullman, Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts. “With healthcare continually evolving and becoming more sophisticated, physicians need the latest information at their fingertips to help them provide improved care at lower cost — and Allscripts delivers.”
