Diane Adams Joins Allscripts as Executive Vice President, Human Resources

–Former Cisco Executive brings more than 20 years of finance, field operations and human resources experience to Allscripts

CHICAGO (July 20, 2009) –

Allscripts (Nasdaq: MDRX) announced today that Diane Adams has joined the Company as Executive Vice President, Human Resources. Ms. Adams brings to the position more than 20 years of finance, field operations and human resources experience in the high tech industry, most recently as Vice President of Human Resources for Worldwide Sales and International Theaters at Cisco, a worldwide leader of networking for the Internet and a key Allscripts partner.

Ms. Adams joined Cisco in 1995 and was instrumental in shaping the HR vision, culture, and talent and executive development strategies that enabled Cisco to meet rapidly-changing business and market requirements. Over the past five years, Ms. Adams and her team at Cisco hired more than 25,000 individuals.

Prior to joining Cisco, Ms. Adams served in a number of leadership roles within Nortel and also founded and operated a successful consulting business focused on organization and leadership development.

Ms. Adams serves, along with Mr. Tullman, on the International Board of Directors of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and has served for the past seven years on the JDRF Board of Directors for the Triangle/Eastern North Carolina chapter. She has held several key leadership positions including Major Donor Committee Chair, JDRF Gala Chair, and Chair of the Walk to Cure Diabetes. In July, 2008, she received an “Award of Excellence” from JDRF for her leadership with the Major Donor program. This year, she is the recipient of the “Ruthie Award,” the Chapter’s highest volunteer leadership award.

Ms. Adams received the “2003 Women in Leadership” award for making an impact in business and the community within the Research Triangle Park area. She currently serves on the North Carolina Board of Directors of “Communities in Schools,” the nation’s leading community-based organization helping kids succeed in school and prepare for life. She recently served on the UNC Board of Visitors.

Ms. Adams holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She will work out of the Company’s growing Raleigh, North Carolina campus and report directly to Mr. Tullman.
