AdvancedMD Appoints Chief Product and Technology Officer

Salt Lake City, Utah (January 19, 2010) –

AdvancedMD® Software, Inc., a leader in software-as-a-service (SaaS) electronic health record (EHR) and revenue cycle management (RCM) automation solutions, announced that Steven ZoBell has joined the executive management team as Chief Product and Technology Officer. ZoBell will direct all aspects of engineering, IT, and product management, reporting to Eric Morgan, CEO.

ZoBell has more than 18 years of product development, software engineering and business management experience. Prior to joining AdvancedMD, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for inContact, Inc. (NASDAQ: SaaS), a leading SaaS-based contact center software company that competed successfully against much larger companies as Oracle’s SaaS-based call center solution, Avaya and Cisco.

“After spending a number of years in the SaaS industry, I have a deep appreciation for the power of secure, continuously updated software that is automatically backed up, never becomes obsolete, and offers better economics compared to client/server software,” said ZoBell. “The benefits of combining the clinical and financial aspects of a medical practice into a single integrated solution is the most compelling SaaS application I have seen.”

Prior to inContact, ZoBell was president of Indie Built, Inc., a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive, a leading developer and publisher of interactive games. He also served as Product Unit Manager for one of the game divisions at Microsoft, where he oversaw the development of three Microsoft franchises: Amped snowboarding, Top Spin tennis, and Links golf, with budgets ranging to $12 million. During the course of his career, ZoBell has been involved in the development of more than 25 critically acclaimed, award-winning, commercial software products.

CEO Eric Morgan added: “Steve’s experience in and leadership of highly dynamic software development environments will accelerate our ability to deliver on a complete physician practice optimization solution built on web-based technologies. As the EHR market unfolds very quickly over the next several years, we are now well positioned to manage this rapid growth and emerge as a major market share owner in the small-to-medium physician practice segment and as the provider of choice to our billing service partners.”
