SoftAid’s Jim Clark Speaks at Medtrade Fall 2003
Session Educates Attendees About Purchasing Medical Management Systems
Atlanta, GA (October 11, 2003) –
SoftAid’s vice president Jim Clark today hosted a presentation at Medtrade Fall 2003. Titled How to Effectively Select a Medical Management System For Your Company, the one hour session focused on educating attendees about the various factors that should be considered when purchasing medical management software. (Release continued below picture)
“The phrase ‘medical management system’ has become somewhat ubiquitous over the last few years, and I felt that it’s led people to believe that all systems are the same. That’s simply not the case,” said Mr. Clark. “It was important that prospective buyers know about a software’s functionality before investing a substantial amount of money on it. I also wanted to explain the acquisition process to them from a vendor’s point of view so that everybody understands that there’s more to buying office management software than they’re aware of.”
In addition to explaining the various features available in medical software systems, Mr. Clark covered the process of identifying and addressing company objectives, developing an implementation strategy, and gave pointers on how to negotiate favorable contracts. Additionally, each of the four provisions of HIPAA’s Administrative Simplification was explained as they relate to medical management systems.
“Since HIPAA is the talk of the health care world right now, I thought it was important that medical equipment companies and providers alike understood how HIPAA affects their operations, and how medical software addresses these regulations.”
